U.S records 40% drop in Immigration
The U.S says the number
of illegal immigrants crossing from Mexico to the United States has reduced by
40% from January to February 2017.
Confirming the
development, The Homeland Security Chief, John Kelly, said the change was a
result of President Donald Trump’s tough policies to enforce immigration laws,
apprehension and inadmissible activity.
It would be recalled that
Donald Trump had signed an executive order for an impassable physical barrier
on the United States and Mexico border, issuing new guidance on deportations..
However Mexico has the condemned the measures describing it as hostile and
unacceptable.
No fewer than 11 million
undocumented immigrants stay in the U.S, of which many are from Mexico.
