Herdsmen Attack Benue Community
Suspected herdsmen have attacked a
community in Benue State, killing 10 persons in Mkgovur village in Buruku local
government area.
The State Police Public Relations
Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police Moses Yamu, confirmed the attack as
the Police Area Commander alongside the Divisional Police Officer in the area
visited the scene and appealed to the parties to desist from any crisis.
The crisis which erupted last
Friday has forced many in Buruku and neighbouring Gboko local government area
to flee their homes for fear of being killed.
The State Police PRO said more
Police personnel have been deployed to the area to restore calm and also
prevent an escalation of the crisis.
