Recession: Buhari’s government should ignore IMF – NLC
The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has
advised the Federal Government to disregard suggestions made by the International
Monetary Fund (IMF) on economic recovery.
Speaking at a Delegate Conference of the
National Union of Civil Engineering Construction, Furniture and Wood Workers
(NUCECFFWW), the NLC President, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, called on the federal
government to assemble an all-inclusive team to develop an economic recovery
framework that is people driven and people focused.
The labor president also urged the federal government
to design policies that would bring back industries, create jobs, revive electricity
and revalue the currency with a view to stimulating the nation’s economy.
