The Presidential Committee on
North East Initiative (PCNI) has acquired an office for its operations in
Taraba state.
In a press statement signed by the
PCNI Media Officer, Seyi Odutayo and made available to newsmen in Bauchi yesterday,
reveals that the move is meant to facilitate its coordinating role of all
interventions in the region as well as enhance synergy between states and the
federal government to rebuild the North-east sub-region ravaged by activities
of insurgents.
While speaking at the Deputy
governor’s office in Taraba, the chairman Presidential committee on the North
East initiative, Lieutenant General T.Y Danjuma represented by his vice, Alhaji
Tijjani Tumsah said aside the influx of IDP in the State leading to
overstretched infrastructure, Taraba state has issues of communal as well as
farmers and herdsman clashes which has led to a lot of IDPs in the state.
Alhaji Tumsah who
thanked the Taraba state government for their support and benevolence pledged
the commitment of the Federal government towards the economic development of
the state.
