FG directs oil companies to relocate headquarters to Niger-Delta

Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has directed International Oil Companies operating in the Niger-Delta region to relocate their headquarters to their States of operation to ease tension in host communities.

Professor Yemi osinbajo who gave the directive at a Town Hall meeting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital during continuation visit in the region said the Ministry of Petroleum and Amnesty office are working with the state governments of the region on providing benefits to young people in the state.

The Acting President urged the Minister of State, and Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu to begin the process of engaging the International Oil Companies on the way forward to actualize the directive.

Fire razes shops in Suleja, Niger State

No fewer than five shops were razed in a fire outbreak, which occurred in Suleja, Niger State. The fire which started from a shop in the old Minna garage area of the town yesterday destroyed property worth several millions of naira. Reports say sympathisers had sent distress calls to the Niger State Fire Service but that there was no response as all its fire-fighting vehicles were not serviceable. However, an eyewitness said he suspected some chemicals were being mixed in one of the shops, which might have been responsible for the explosion that occurred.
