Drought Kills Many In Somalia
No fewer than 110 people
have died of starvation and diarrhea due to drought in the Bay region of
Somalia.
This was made known by
the country’s prime minister, Hassan Ali Khaire,… following government warnings
that the drought amounts to a national disaster.
The prime minister who
revealed casualty figures of starvation and diarrhea in Bay region,.. assured
that the Somali government will do its best to contain the situation, and urged
all Somalis, to come to the aid of their fellow nationals.
Meanwhile, Thousands have
streamed into the country’s capital, Mogadishu, in search of food aid,.. mounting
pressures on local and international aid agencies.
