Another batch of female graduates in Katsina State to get automatic teaching employment.

Another batch of about 112 female graduates of the Female Teachers Trainee Scholarship Scheme, FTTSS designed by UNICEF, DFID in collaboration with the Katsina State government are to get automatic teaching employment.

The Chairman, Katsina State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, Malam Lawal Buhari Daura who confirmed this to newsmen yesterday said the development was part of the proposed recruitment of 1900 teachers in the state.

The program was designed to increase enrollment of the female child up to National Certificate of Education, NCE after which they are employed and deployed to teach in their various communities.


Assistant Director, Planning Research and Statistics and UNICEF Desk Officer in SUBEB, Hajia Zainab Garba Kaita said so far the scheme which was put in place in Katsina State since 2008 has a total number of 3096 students enrolled in the program with over 200 employed and sent back to their communities to teach.
