FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BLAMES POOR ELECTRICITY SUPPLY ON LIQUIDITY PROBLEMS AND PIPE LINE VANDALISIM,
The Federal Government of Nigeria has blamed declining
electricity supply in the country on liquidity problems, pipeline vandalism and
sabotage of oil infrastructure in the south-south.
The Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde
Fashola, tabled the complain while briefing newsmen after the Federal Executive
Council (FEC) meeting presided over by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.
While speaking
the minister stated that apart from the sabotage prominient in the Western axis of the Niger Delta, the
Escravos Lagos pipeline is not operational and the Forcados export terminal has
also been out of operation, adding that the production of oil is impossible
without gas, As it is the fuel that the power plants need.
Mr fashola however
disclosed that the government was working hard to address the challenge.
