The Federal Government of Nigeria has blamed declining electricity supply in the country on liquidity problems, pipeline vandalism and sabotage of oil infrastructure in the south-south.
The Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, tabled the complain while briefing newsmen after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) ‎meeting presided over by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.
While speaking  the minister stated that apart from the sabotage prominient in  the Western axis of the Niger Delta, the Escravos Lagos pipeline is not operational and the Forcados export terminal has also been out of operation, adding that the production of oil is impossible without gas, As it is the fuel that the power plants need.
Mr fashola however disclosed that the government was working hard to address the challenge.
