Federal government approves funds for kano to Kaduna road railway gauge

The Federal Government has approved 1.2 billion dollars for the construction of the Kano-Kaduna standard gauge railway project.‎ ‎ 
This was disclosed by the Minister of Transport, Mr. Rotimi Amechi, when he paid a visit to Kano state Governor. Abdullahi Ganduje at the Government House, Kano. 
The minister who explained that the Federal Government is negotiating with China EXIM bank to finance the project added that the Federal Government would provide about 100 locomotives for narrow gauge rail which would run through Lagos, Kano, Port Harcourt, Funtua and Gombe to improve the economy. 
While Responding, Governor. Abdullahi Ganduje, expressed delights and commended the president for fulfilling his campaign promise.‎
